Hello, mon amis. Today my dad took me and my sister by our old house. It was so sad. It was like the scene in Return to Oz, where Dorothy is walking down the Yellow Brick Road and she sees her house that the tornado dropped. "That was the kitchen...that was my bedroom..." she says.
First we looked for our handprints. On the day they laid the cement for the driveway (November of 1995), my dad took us to the house and my sister and I placed our hands in a corner of the wet cement and my dad wrote our names over them and the date. It was so...endearing to see them again. They were hardly visible, and when we moved the weeds away ants came out, but it was still cool to see.
Eveything seemed so much bigger when I was a kid. The kitchen, deck, backyard (which they actually made bigger, but it looks smaller), and driveway all seemed immense when I was little, but now--not so much.
This experience gave me PMS, my term for, 'Pensive Memory Sessions'. I started to sit and think about the things I did at the house, the fun I had, the good things, and the things I got in trouble for. *Sigh* It looks the exact same, except they put ugly carpet on the stairs and painted the house a different color. We couldn't go inside, but from what we saw while peering in the windows made the house look as though we had simply decided to go out for pizza one day asnd took all our possesions and furniture and then forgot to go home. It looks like we just abonded it. It was sad, yet cool at the same time.

Yesterday we had play practice from noon until six. We got about two things accomplished, I think. After that, I, Ashley A., Meghan K., Rachel R., Jordan S., Jordan M., Lauren C., and Laura McD. went to Stephen E.'s house for a 'OMG HARRY POTTER FOUR MOVIE IS OUT ON DVD OMG' party. It was fun; we also dressed up in Hogwarts uniforms. First, we pet Stephen's cat, Beatrice; we then had chicken breast (teehee) for dinner at Stephen's HUGE house; and then we watched the film. After about thirty minutes of British people screaming, I got bored so Ashley, Stephen, Jordan S., Jordan M., and I played pool and foozeball. Then Laura joined us, because no one appreciated her comments about the film (we all actually made funny comments about the film, but Rachel R. and Lauren C. wanted to watch the movie, so we went elsewhere. Then my mum came at 9:59 P.M. and we went home. Overall, my day was fun.
P.S. I AM COMPLETELY DONE EDITING THE TEXT OF MY NOVEL!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yesterday me, my sister, my sister's friend, and my step-mom hung door hangers for my dad's Lawn Doctor business. Luckily, I had my Sony Walkman MP3 player with me to amuse myself (I can recite The Rocky Horror show in entirety now, and I almost know all of Cabaret).
WE PUT OUT 250 FLYERS YESTERDAY.
250.
We did three subdivisions; I got so bored and tired and irritable by the end that I doubled up (put two door hangers on the door instead of just one) on three or four houses. Apparently, my dad and step-mom took out a loan from the bank to pay for those hangers, so I got a good lecture about it and I won't do that again.
Dad said I could bring friends next time we do that. Hopefully we won't ever have to it again.
In other news, I am working on a short animation of The Time Warp. Yea. |
